The Mazzei family has been making wine in Tuscany and Sicily for generations, but their patriarch, Filippo Mazzei, was also a venerated philosopher whose writings went on to inspire part of the American declaration of independence. The Mazzei Zisola Nero d’Avola is a force of its own with notes of forest fruit, tobacco leaf, and chilli spice.
