Grown on the Conca Tre Pile vineyard in Alba, the grapes for this wine hang on the 45-year-old vines for an extended period of time allowing more complex flavours to develop. The Aldo Conterno Conca Tre Pile Barbera d’Alba expresses notes of dark cherry, pain au chocolate, and earth. There isn’t much tannin, but those present are round and pleasant contrasted by the bright acidity.
Try pairing it with a roasted, herb-crusted rack of lamb.
